there are so many ways to be "Soave"

Suave, elegant, smooth, tender: in Italian "Soave" means all these things.
What images does the name "Soave" conjure up for you ?
What does it mean to be "Soave" ?
What is the flavor of "Soave" ?
Is it the same as that of the wine to which the atmospheric medieval town of Soave gives its name ?

This is a competitition for video inspired by the "Soave" way of life, expressed through its thoughts, emotions, illusions, dreams and also through its wine, its landscape and the - perhaps even idealized - town itself.

The concept its to convey the "di-vine" world of wine together with an ideal "Soave" way of living: an ideal that is in total contrast with the frenzy and violence of today's world.

The "Soave" lifestyle means expressing one's ture humanity by recuperating a dimension and pleasure that belong to the past and making it part and parcel of the way we live today.

The winning videos will be shown at all the events of the Veneto Film Festival. All the entries will partecipate automatically in the San Giò Video Festival held in Verona 23-27 july 2005, and will also be given exposure at the other Festivals throughout Italy.

Each work should be no more than one reel (approximately 12 minutes) long.
There is ONE IMPORTANT CONDITION: the use of celluloid is not permitted.
The entries will be judged by an International Jury.

The SOAVE WAYS Competition is organized by the Producers' Consortium of Soave and Recioto di Soave wines, with tecnical guidance from hte Cineclub of Verona. The Artistic Directors of the Prize are Ugo Brusaporco and Michael Benson, and Patricia Guy is responsible for P.R. .
