Three days of tastings, seminars, and in-depth sessions dedicated to press and operators in Düsseldorf, to tell the “multiple soul” of Soave.
March 11, 2025 – Soave in its different interpretations, from March 16 to 18, will be present at Prowein in Düsseldorf (Hall 15 C 67), a reference fair for the German and Northern European markets, which have always been strategic locations for the great white wine produced on the hills east of Verona.
This fair represents a strategic showcase for Soave wine, a unique opportunity to present the different interpretations of the Veronese white wine and to meet industry operators from all over the world.
Labels showcased, bottles highlighted, readily available information. These are the elements that the Consortium has chosen to tell the story of Soave, the women and men who produce it, to journalists and industry operators who can freely and comfortably taste throughout the duration of the fair.
Freshness, longevity, white soil (limestone), black soil (volcanic), will be the cornerstones around which the Soave Consortium’s education activity will revolve during the three days of Prowein, where operators, international buyers and specialized press are expected.
These are the wineries present at the consortium stand:
BISCARDO
CANOSO
ANTINA DEL CASTELLO
CANTINA DI MONTEFORTE
CORTE ADAMI
CORTE MAINENTE
CORTE MOSCHINA
I CAMPI
A packed schedule of activities is planned for Soave: it begins on Sunday morning, March 16, with the masterclass “Soave: the evolution from freshness to longevity”, organized in collaboration with ICE and aimed at industry operators and sommeliers, during which emphasis will be placed on the aging capacity of Soave wine, excellent when consumed young but able to surprise with the complexity it can achieve after a few years of evolution in the bottle.
This will be followed by a series of targeted meetings dedicated to German sommeliers who, under the expert guidance of Filippo Bartolotta, wine communicator and educator, will periodically visit the Consortium’s stand and be able to dialogue with the producers.
The goal is to strengthen the knowledge of Soave wine among German operators, emphasizing its uniqueness, whether born from calcareous soil or volcanic soil, and its ability to evolve over time.
Finally, a packed agenda of meetings with the international trade press, which confirms its presence in Düsseldorf for the 2025 edition.
“The German market is an important market for Soave,” emphasizes Cristian Ridolfi, president of the Protection Consortium, “and Prowein represents its flagship. We are aware that important changes are underway both at the market level and at the level of trade fair events in Europe. For this reason, we believe it is strategic to analyze with consideration how the situation evolves, always keeping in mind the current consumption trends that favor white, savory, fresh wines with moderate alcohol content.”
The Soave Wine Protection Consortium was founded in 1970 and represents wineries, winegrowers, bottlers and cooperatives.
The denomination – recognized by Royal Decree in 1931, among the oldest in Italy – consists of about 7000 hectares of vineyards and insists on 13 municipalities located in eastern Verona. Currently, about ninety companies are associated with the Consortium which, with a representativeness that approaches 90%, deals with the protection, promotion, enhancement of the denomination and supervision. Every year, an average of about 40 million bottles are produced.
