Italy’s Soave Consorzio is introducing the Sensational Soave Master Class Series, its new educational initiative, to two additional cities this fall. Following the success of the New York and San Francisco tastings last spring, fall tastings will be held in Boston and Chicago, led by Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein. The Soave Consorzio aims to showcase the region’s top wines while generating awareness of the region in two more of the country’s leading markets.
“During the New York and San Francisco tastings this spring, we were astounded by the high attendance and enthusiasm for learning about Soave,” says Giovanni Ponchia of the Soave Consorzio. “We’re looking forward to the same caliber of interest, if not more, during our Boston and Chicago visits.”
Back in the early 1930s, Soave was one of the first two Italian wine producing areas recognized as a delimited geographical wine region. With over 3,000 growers, 150 bottlers, 90 wineries and 60 individual Crus, Soave’s status and quality has soared and is arguably Italy’s leading white wine of place.
The master classes are by invitation only and will provide trade and media in Boston and Chicago the opportunity to discuss and taste through several types of high-caliber Soave wines, including varieties of Soave Classico and Soave DOC along with Soave Spumante and Recioto.
“We’re thrilled that so many industry professionals are interested in tasting Soave’s latest vintages,” says Evan Goldstein, Master Sommelier. “Full of character, complexity and natural acidity, Soave is prepped for making its mark in top wine markets and attracting a younger demographic of wine drinkers while reminding the rest of us as to why the wines are so renowned.”
