From experiential education to the importance of landscape when tasting wine, from the strategic importance of wine tourism to the intrinsic value of Additional Geographical Units. These are some of the themes that will be addressed at Vinitaly 2025 by the Soave Consortium, with a focus on foreign markets, particularly Canada. Wine always in the foreground thanks to the “Soave tasting Area”: a single large space, with labels on display and information readily available thanks to convenient QR codes.
Life is Soave, especially when you can learn while having fun. This is the focus with which the Soave Consortium has chosen to present itself at Vinitaly 2025 and tell its story to industry operators, wine enthusiasts and visitors who, from April 6 to 9, will enter Vinitaly, which this year reaches its 57th edition.
Life is Soave thus becomes this year synonymous with experiential education and olfactory tastings, thanks to a strategic collaboration with AIS Veneto (Italina Sommelier Association), to bring visitors and enthusiasts closer to Soave wine in its multiple and varied facets, a true sensory journey that, of course, cannot ignore the landscape since the Soave Vine-Covered Hills are the only Italian wine-growing site to boast the GIAHS FAO recognition as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System.
“Life is Soave” thus becomes a synthesis of concepts deeply rich in meaning such as the pleasure of drinking a great quality wine, the value of an uncontaminated landscape, the joy of conviviality, the taste for slowness.
It is the exaltation of a conscious approach towards a unique heritage that the Soave producers have inherited from past generations and are committed to keeping intact for years to come.
Experiential education will then rhyme with wine tourism, another major theme of current relevance for the entire wine sector and for Soave in particular, already “Borgo dei Borghi” according to the popular Rai3 program Kilimangiaro.
Ample space then to the UGAs, the Additional Geographical Units, and to meetings with foreign buyers with particular regard to the Canadian market where the Soave Consortium, after investing in training projects for over 500 sommeliers, is the protagonist of a series of actions aimed at improving brand awareness and including new references for the Quebec Monopoly – SAQ (Societé des Alchools du Québec).

Ample space on Sunday for education in close collaboration with AIS Veneto.
It starts on Sunday, April 6, with a double masterclass, scheduled at 11:00 am and then at 2:00 pm, entitled “Soave: between garganega, landscape, terroir” aimed at AIS members and led by the president of the Consortium Cristian Ridolfi. During the meeting, participants will be able to deepen their knowledge of garganega, the native grape of Soave, the value of the landscape when tasting a wine and the importance of terroir as a unique and non-cloneable factor.
Monday, April 7 – Hall 5 G 4-6
12:00 pm – Soave Wine Route Calls Sicily
At 12:00 pm on Monday, April 7, a toast is scheduled between the Soave Wine Route and the Terre Sicane Wine Route to celebrate a happy twinning between two production areas with strong wine tourism value.
2:00 pm – Presentation of the volume “Historical and Heroic Viticulture: the Historical Rural Landscapes of Italy”
At 2:00 pm on Monday, April 7, the Soave Consortium’s stand will host the meeting dedicated to the presentation of the volume “Historical and Heroic Viticulture: the Historical Rural Landscapes of Italy“, an event born as a natural evolution of the long journey that led the Soave Vine-Covered Hills to enter first the national register of historical rural landscapes and then become a GIAHS-FAO site, a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. The meeting will see the participation of Cristian Ridolfi, President of the Soave Consortium, Eugenio Occhialini, Director of Edagricole, Mauro Agnoletti, Scientific Curator of the work, Angelica Mosetti, National Councilor of AIS, Damiano Zanotelli and Vera Rossi of the ViVaCe Committee of the Terraced Vineyards of the Cembra Valley. The meeting will be moderated by journalist Lucia Vesentini.
3:30 pm – Soave, from freshness to longevity
At 3:30 pm on Monday, April 7, the masterclass entitled “Soave, from freshness to longevity” will be held, led by wine blogger and wine expert Francesco Saverio Russo. Those who take part will thus have the opportunity to approach one of the themes dearest to the Soave denomination, a wine certainly pleasant with its freshness and fruity notes if tasted young, a wine certainly complex with a bouquet that sometimes, on the nose, turns to tertiary scents if tasted after a few years.

2:15 pm – Wine tourism: a train to catch for Eastern Verona
On Tuesday, April 8, at 2:15 pm, wine tourism will be discussed at the Soave Consortium with the event “Wine tourism: a train to catch for Eastern Verona”. The meeting, born from the collaboration with Wine Meridian and Wine Tourism hub, aims to highlight the wine tourism potential in the Soave production area and will see the active participation of the Soave Wine Route. Many themes are scheduled on which Lavinia Furlani, President of Wine Meridian, Stefano Alberti, President of the Soave Wine Route, Filippo Galanti, of Divinea, among others, will discuss.

The Soave tasting area always active
What does a buyer with a busy schedule of appointments and dozens of stands to visit during a fair want? To find the wine they were looking for in the shortest possible time. Hence the Soave Tasting Area, the solution that the Soave Consortium has devised to help industry operators looking for the wine they were looking for: labels on display, bottles in the foreground, information readily available thanks to the QR code. A quick overview of all the productions followed by the equally easy possibility of professionally tasting all the references present. Objective: to eliminate time and space between buyers and producers.
An “approach” system to the denomination to tell the story of Soave, in its numerous interpretations, to journalists, industry operators, enthusiasts who can freely and comfortably taste here, with the help of experts and sommeliers ready to answer their questions. The Additional Geographical Units of Soave
The 33 Additional Geographical Units (UGAs) of Soave will once again be the protagonists at the Consortium’s stand during the next Vinitaly. Visitors and wine lovers will be able to request them, taste them and learn more. The Soave UGAs encompass the four soils of the Soave area, from the calcareous seabed of oceanic origin of Mezzane, Val d’Illasi and Soave, to the volcanic soils of Val d’Alpone, representing only 38% of the Soave vineyard area and only in the hilly area. They emphasize the different expressions of Soave wines that are the result of the combination of soil, altitudes, climate influence and are enhanced by the style and technique of each winery. They are suitable areas, where the resulting wines can evolve over time, becoming versatile and surprising.
