This geographical unit becomes a buffer that from north to south separates the two geographical units of Brognoligo and Costalunga, both in the munici- pality of Monteforte d’Alpone. The name indicates the historic properties of the MONTANARI nobles acquired at the beginning of the 19th century by the DURLO Domenico di Terrossa family.
The north-eastern slopes are at the limit of the heroic and are also steep to the south. The south-west slopes are gentler at 15-25%.
The soil is entirely made up of substrates made of volcanic rock (basalts and basaltic breccias). Here, too, the traditional trellising of the pergola-bearing systems dominate, even if on the northern slope, Guyot systems are present.
