Surely this is one of the most characteristic and historical Cru of Soave Classico. The term probably derives from FRASCA and the accent does not help us to identify other possible origins. Surrounded almost completely by other geograph- ical units, it is distinguished by a particularly volcanic soil even if there is no lack of some calcareous outcrop. The slopes range from 10 to 30% and the vineyards have been planted by making small terraces supported by dry-stone walls or ciglioni. These are typically historic vineyards with very old vines that can even reach 90/100 years. This certifies how suitable the area is for viticulture, at 40 meters to 150 meters /m.
The soils have a brownish yellow to grayish brown color; the texture is clayey with scattered stones of basaltic origin. They are not very calcareous or not calcareous and weakly alkaline. The basaltic sub- strate is generally found above 100 cm depth. The vineyards have mostly southern to south-east- ern exposure.
