Prowein 2024: Soave and Lessini Durello Together Under the Sign of the Volcano
From March 10th to 12th , Soave and Lessini Durello will be present at the Dusseldorf
fair, as part of the Heva project, to enhance the excellence produced on volcanic soil.

March 2024 – Soave and Lessini Durello return as protagonists at the upcoming Prowein, scheduled in Dusseldorf from March 10 to 12 (Hall 15 E 04), to once again tell the power and distinctiveness of white wines from volcanic soil. A novelty for the two consortia at the 30th edition of Prowein will be the renewed stand in form and layout: a decidedly more open and airy area where companies will be immediately recognizable; interactivity for the wine tasting area
where visitors can, in addition to interacting with the present producers, independently taste the wines and connect to the companies via the provided QR codes; a strong push for openness and welcoming industry operators and visitors in general.
Labels prominently displayed, bottles in the foreground, easily accessible information.
These are the elements that the Consortium has chosen to introduce the women and men producing Soave and Lessini Durello to journalists and industry operators, who can freely and comfortably taste throughout the duration of the fair.

These are the companies that will be present at the stand:

CAMERANI
CANOSO
CANTINA DEL CASTELLO
CANTINA DI MONTEFORTE
CORTE MAINENTE
CORTE MOSCHINA
GINI
VICENTINI
VITICOLTORI D’ITALIA

The Consortium of Soave and Lessini Durello will be present at Prowein as part of the Heva project, Heroes of Europe: Volcanic Agriculture, the project for the promotion and enhancement of volcanic products, financed by the European Union under measure 1144 – along with the Consortium of Monte Veronese Cheese and the Greek consortium Union of Santorini Cooperatives
– Santo Wines. The volcano will therefore be the guiding theme for this year’s activities coordinated by the Consortium of Soave to promote among industry press and operators the values and quality that characterize the “Italian district of white wine from volcanic soil.
The volcano, its strength, its unstoppable power, once again prove to be effective communication keys to understand and convey the values and peculiarities of these productions united by an origin as ancient as it is powerful.
Thanks to the HEVA project, the Consortium of Soave and Lessini Durello aims to promote, highlight, and make consumers aware of the extraordinary characteristics of viticulture that found its difference on the volcanic origin of the soils. Different terroirs that have developed a similar propensity for quality, based on similar pedoclimatic characteristics, geological history, exposure, and altitude. The volcano environment represents one of the most difficult and precious in the age-old dialectic between man and nature, in a mutual exchange of energy and experiences: the fertility of the soil and its difficulty in being cultivated; the generosity of the elements present in the soil and the extreme slopes, on which for millennia men and women have committed themselves to clear and build terraces, now an integral part of a landscape of unmistakable beauty.
“Prowein is a crucial event for Soave – explains Sandro Gini, president of the Consortium – because international buyers of significance, highly qualified industry operators, and specialized media from around the world have always gathered in Dusseldorf. This year’s edition is particularly important to us because it is an opportunity to present our Soave Identity Project, namely the set of good practices and guidelines that the Soave Consortium has been pursuing for
almost two years to make Soave even more competitive in the markets.”

The Consortium for the Protection of Soave Wines was established in 1970 and represents wineries, grape growers, bottlers, and cooperatives. The denomination – recognized by Royal Decree in 1931, one of the oldest in Italy – covers about 7,000 hectares of vineyards and includes 13 municipalities in East Verona. Currently, about ninety companies are associated with the Consortium, which, with a representation that approaches 90%, is responsible for the protection, promotion, and enhancement of the denomination and surveillance. Every year, an average of about 40 million bottles is produced.
